Post Italy Blog - Day 1

So even though I am already back from my trip, I figure the most genius way to spend my spare time and avoid homework and job hunting is to blog about my trip :)

Day 1

My first day in Italy began when our plane touched down in Pisa and as Nonno and I exited the baggage claim, and the doors opened, there stood 12 family members, smiling, waving, and cheering. It was quite a site!

Before I could even grasp the fact that I had finally made it there, they were asking me if I wanted to go see the Tower of Pisa. After pulling an all nighter in order to study for my last final, finish a paper, and complete the packing process, and then flying for 16 hours...I was a little tired, but of course said yes!

When I saw this, I seriously almost started to cry because I was just in such disbelief that I was really there. Oh and if you were wondering about all those family members...

There will be more individuals ones as we go along but basically all of these people are cousins, and there are a ton more that I didn't even get to meet. My first dinner in Italy was not my first choice, pizza, but definitely an experience. I say this because, they do not serve slices in Italy, they serve entire pizzas! And each person eats there own! My guess is that they are about the size of a medium here. I can barely manage 2 slices on a regular basis. Luckily the pizza is super thin and I managed to eat half, and luckily other people were hungry and finished the rest of mine.

After dinner it was time to go home to a little town (really a village) called Piano Di Colecchia and get a good nights rest!
