The countdown is on! I leave for Italy on May 16; that is exactly 15 days from today!
I've never been to Italy before and I am so excited about this trip. It is going to be a very unique sort of trip because I am going with my Nono (grandpa). He's 85 and still loving life, and the two of us are going to travel to Italy and visit the family. Most of his family lives out there, including one of his brothers and sisters. I have met a few of them in the past, but it'll be totally different experience when we go out there.
My family is from the Tuscany area, a little less than an hour away from Pisa.
Hopefully this will be one of the first sites I get to see and I can take the same picture my parents took when they were here; me pretending to lean against the Tower :) I'm not sure how much traveling I am going to get to do. I want to do as much as possible and hopefully get to see the big sites at Rome, Venice, Florence, Milan, and Pisa. But the great part about this trip is that I'm going to see a lot of my family and my family history!

I *love* the name of this post. I am so excited for you to go to Italy! And Tuscany is the beautifullest beautiful part of Italy, right? (wink) What a gorgous country. I can't wait for you to blog about your experiences and post pictures so we can vicariously enjoy your trip with ya!
